Professors:

Elisabeth Eschwe Elisabeth Eschwé works in leading positions at Viennese music schools. With her brother Alfred (an internationally sought for orchestra leader) she forms the "Wiener Klavierduo" continuing the tradition of four hand piano playing of her childhood. In piano pedagogics she treads new paths transposing Stanislawki´s drama playing method fort the artistic piano playing. She is invited by many universities and presents her innovative ideas in master classes, lectures and publications. Frequently engaged as a soloist she appears (among others) in the Viennese Konzerthaus, in the Carnegie Hall/New York. She is also engaged in several music theatres, co-operates with orchestras and appears in own duo-events in the cabaret scene. Numerous productions for the radio, for television as well as CDs with own programmes are part of her artistic career. She studied with Prof. Margaretha Heeger (a student with Franz Schmidt) at the Viennese conservatory and completed studies in philosophy and interpreter at the Viennese university. In her passion for theatre she later completed a private study in play-acting with Prof. Lola Braxton. Piano

Georg Steinschaden Georg Steinschaden is Professor for Piano and Director of the  "Pre-College Salzburg" at the University of Music and Performing Arts "Mozarteum". He is the President of the the Austrian Master Classesand teaches also at the Musikum Salzburg. He was chairman of the executive board of the youth competition "Prima la Musica" in Salzburg for seven years and a member of the management board "Prima la Musica" Austria. His innumerable concerts with the "Steinschaden Trio Salzburg" have taken him to many countries in and outside of Europe (Italy, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Russia, Bulgaria, Germany, Japan, USA e.g. in CARNEGIE HALL in New York, and Mexico just to name a few). He has recorded many CDs and his work has been broadcasted on both radio and television ORF and ARD in Austria, on Japanese television he has appeared with ensembles such as the Eichendorff Quintet Vienna (members of the Vienna Philharmonic), the Amati Quartet Verona, and the Augsburg String Quartet, also with soloists like the famous Mezzo Soprano Angelika Kirchschlager. For the past twenty years Georg Steinschaden has also been busy with cultural management. He completed his studies in Piano and Pedagogics at the University of Music and Performing Arts "Mozarteum" in Salzburg with P.Lang, N.Shetler and A.Kontarski, and has won first prize on many occasions in the "Jugend musiziert" competitions. Felix Urthaler Felix Urthaler is teaching piano and piano accompaniment at the music school "Musikum"in Salzburg since the year 2007. He is repeated prize-holder of the competition"Prima la musica" and took part in concerts in Germany, Autria and Italy. As a pianist he has also been a member of the "Blue Sky" bigband under the leadership of Ferdinand Schmitzberger. He completed his studies to the degree Master of Arts at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg with Andreas Weber. At the moment Felix Urthaler is in adoctoral program for musical pedagogics. He visited master classes with Gereon Kleiner, Georg Steinschaden and Norman Shetler. Piano

Cornelia Wögerer Cornelia Wögerer  works as a piano teacher and répétiteuse at the University Mozarteum Salzburg and the music school Ried im Innkreis. She received numerous prizes at the competition Prima la musica on both state and national level, and was also honoured with the special award for chamber music. Wögerer has not only played in concerts with members of the Brucknerorchestra Linz and the Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna (RSO), but also performed as a soloist with violinist Evelyn Höllwerth (duo piano/violin) and the Schubert symphony orchestra (Upper Austria). Since April 2012 Wögerer has been teaching as a lecturer for piano solo and piano accompaniment at the Austrian Master Classes. Moreover, she managed the concert series “Triolino” and the “Schlosskonzerte Kammer am Attersee” in Upper Austria for the Jeunesse. Wögerer received her first piano lessons at the music school Linz and thereafter studied at the Bruckner University Linz (Prof. August Humer, Sven Birch) and also at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Prof. Harald Ossberger), where she received a scholarship in 2009. She continued her studies (Magisterstudium Instrumental- und Gesangspädagogik) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and graduated with honours. Afterwards she studied chamber music with Prof. Till Alexander Körber at the Bruckner University Linz. In addition, Cornelia Wögerer attended master classes given by internationally renowned pianists such as Gottlieb Wallisch and Georg Steinschaden. Piano

Our Youth Class for piano will offer you a good possibility to intensively prepare an imminent contest such as Jugend musiziert, Prima la Musica, Gradus ad Parnassum or an examination, and you can also deepen and improve programs already started or finished.

Solo lessons, prima vista playing for four hands, training in rhythmics will widen your musical horizon and promote your creativity and talent in playing the instrument. 

Due to the varied contact with the course participants, listening to other participants of the strings and flute course taking place at the same time will expand your sound experience, promote your creativity and rouse your joy in making music. Specific technical support will facilitate the transformation of your musical ideas.

Following obligations are offered and contained in the fee
Daily ca. 40 minutes resp. 80 minutes individual lessons, additional training in rhythmics, sight-reading for pianists, free use of piano instruments and of the practising premises, a workshop-concert, a public final concert admission free for participants and visitors, consultation advice for participants, teachers and parents at the end of the course week, all classes open for listeners, free use of the WLAN.

All participants will receive a diploma of participation. 

Program
You can freely choose the program for the course.

A main focus with beginners and advanced students lies in specific individual support in technique and in interpreting your selected program.

We will work on an improvement of your musical power of expression and the promotion of your musical personality and find ways to independent interpretation.

Correct exercises, practicing playing by heart, the correct posture at the instrument and correct respiration are also main components of the course work.

We deal with coping any fears of performance, among others, by mental training, by mutual recitals in group lessons, in the workshop concert and during the public final concert, and by preparing for competitions and exams.

There will be enough pianos and rooms for exercises, the exercise periods will be organized.

Invited are

young pianists of every nation from 8 up to age 18 from Universities, Music schools, Conservatories or from private teachers.

Requirements

We expect an adequate selection of the course program according to your skills and age, preferably in consultation with your teacher. You should be able to play at least works at the level of very easy Sonatinas, simple pieces from the "Notenbüchlein für Anna Magdalena Bach" or easier pieces from R. Schumann's "Album für die Jugend".

Location
Castle Zell an der Pram in Upper Austria.

Dates
The class starts at 6 p.m. with dinner. Arrival after 3 p.m.
The class ends after the public concert in the Knights Hall of the castle.

Registration


Late applications will be considered if possible, but due to high demand and limited space, we recommend to submit your application in time.



Closing Concert
The class ends with a public concert in the Knights Hall of the castle. The participants will be selected by the professors.

Leisure-Time Activities
There are sports grounds and a gym for ball-games, table tennis, etc.

Right away book two lesson-unities daily, a second class or the chamber music class!
