Andreas Pözlberger, born 1963, he received his first cello lessons at the age of five at the Brucknerkonservatorium Linz with Dr. Karl Picker. From the age of 12 onwards he studied with Prof. Tachezi at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and gained distinction in his diploma, thereby also winning a prize from the Austrian Ministry of Culture. Finally he studied with Prof. Laszlo Mezo in Budapest for one year. He took chambermusic classes with Juergen Geise, Sandor Vegh, Dino Asciolla, Sigmund Nissel and Walter Levin.

He has performed in numerous concerts both at home and abroad, and in various radio recordings, as soloist, with the chamber orchestra Harmonices Mundi, and also with the Tassilo-Quartet. Concert tours have led him through Europe, Asia and both North and South America. Since 1988 Mr. Poezlberger has been teaching violoncello at the Anton Bruckner - University in Linz and is also leading a chamber music class.
