
Stefanie Prenn studied cello with Georg Baich, Tobias Kühne, Maarten Mostert, Dmitri Ferschtmann und Reinhard Latzko and graduated with honours at the university of music and performing arts Vienna in 2013. Additionally she attended numerous masterclasses (e.g. with Sandor Vegh, Natalia Gutman, Valter Despalj, Heidi Litschauer, Quirine Viersen) and worked intensely with the composer Georg Nussbaumer. She won prizes taking part in multiple national and international competitions such as the Mravinskij competition in St. Petersburg, the International Broadcasting Competition Concertino Praga) and got many scholarships (Carl Michael Ziehrer Foundation, Förderung des Österreichischen Bundeskanzleramtes, Lina and Thyll Dürr Foundation, STARTStipendium).
She played with different ensembles (Ensemble xxj, Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop) and orchestras ( Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, Orchestra Mozart, Orchester der Wiener Volksoper, Radio-Sinfonieorchester Wien, Bühnenorchester der Wiener Staatsoper, Bruckner Orchester Linz). Stefanie Prenn is a member of Ensemble Platypus. From 2016 until 2022 she held a lectureship for cello at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. In 2020 she finished her postgraduate education in Applied Dramaturgy with honours at the same university. She already staged her first music theatre miniature performance together with scenograph Sophie Eidenberger at the WUK in Vienna in September. Also she worked as a dramaturge at the project Nobodaddy is perfect in the Radialsystem Berlin.
