Peter Langgartner | Viola
Peter Langgartner is a professor for Viola, Chamber Music and Applied Music Theory at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg. He served as first viola player at the Teatro La Fenice (Venice) and with the Camerata Academica (Salzburg). As the violist of the Pro Arte Quartet he appeared in most of the renowned concert halls of the world and he has released a recording of Mozarts complete string quartets with the BMG. As a soloist he has appeared with all the renowned viola-concertos (Telemann, Mozart, Paganini, Hindemith, Feldman) in Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, USA, Canada and Japan. He appeared also as a chamber musician together with (among others) Thomas Zehetmair, Benjamin Schmid, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Alois Brandhofer and Wolfgang Meyer. Other experience was the taking part in musical cabarets and cross-over projects. He has released numerous CDs with the labels Arte Nova, RCA Red Seal and Ambitus.
