Austrian pianist Clara Murnig is specializing in contemporary music, Lied accompaniment and chamber music. Currently she is a lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Viennaand coach and répétiteur at the Austrian Master Classes in Zell an der Pram. She has performed at venues and festivals including the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall (UK), Sage Gateshead (UK), Norfolk Music Room at the Victoria&Albert Museum (UK), Charlton House London (UK), Stift Heiligenkreuz (AT), Beethoven Haus Baden (AT), Brahms Museum Mürzzuschlag (AT), Südbahnmuseum Mürzzuschlag (AT), Bernhard Theater Zurich (CH), Gmundner Festwochen (A), festival classic.muerz (A), Styriarte (A), Cremona Musica 2017 (IT), Schönberg Center Vienna, Kultur- and Kongresszentrum Liederhalle Stuttgart (D), King Alexei's Place (RU) and Altes Rathaus Vienna. She was trained at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Anna Pfeiffer and Ursula Kneihs. She continued her studies under the tutelage of Simon Lepper and Roger Vignoles at the Royal College of Music in London. As a Samling Artist she worked with Malcolm Martineau, Sir Thomas Allen and Stephen King; at the Schubert Institut Baden bei Wien with Helmut Deutsch, Julius Drake, Elly Ameling, Bernarda Fink, Robert Holl and Rudolf Jansen. She was awarded the Lucy Ann Jones Award of the Royal College of Music London; the STARTStipendium of the former Austrian Federal Ministry of Eduction, Art and Culture in the section Music and Performing Arts and was a scholar of the Styrian Josef-Krainer-Scholarship fund.
