Fausto Quintaba / University Mozarteum Salzburg | Conservatory of Innsbruck / Coaching
"An outstanding pianist!" – This was Joseph Horovitz's comment after listening to his "Sonatina" recorded by Fausto Quintabá together with clarinettist Ferdinand Steiner. Fausto Quintabá had piano lessons with the pianist and composer Marcello Biondolillo at the Conservatory in Palermo. After taking the diploma with distinction he won many national and international competitions, attended the master class of Aquiles Delle Vigne, Bruno Mezzena and Pierluigi Camicia at the International summer academy Mozarteum, and appeared in concert in Austria (ORF/Salzburg and Tyrol, Konzerthaus/Vienna); in Germany, Serbia, Croatia, Belgium, France (Salle Gaveau/Paris), The Netherlands (Concertgebouw/Amsterdam), Italy, together with the Salzburg Soloists and with the Ensemble Acrobat conducted by Peter Wesenauer, David Danzmayr and others. He was engaged in Salzburg as a piano coach for Alois Brandhofer's clarinet class and for Grace Bumbry's singing class. In July 2005 and 2006 he appeared at the opening of the Salzburg Festival and he took his second diploma with distinction as concert pianist at the Universität Mozarteum/Salzburg with Prof. Claudius Tanski. He is presently a piano teacher at the Musikum/Salzburg and a piano coach at the Landeskonservatorium/Innsbruck. His first solistic recording – featuring music by N. Zehm, F. Liszt, M. Biondolillo and G. Ligeti – will be published next year.
