The internationally sought-after Mozart tenor Rainer Trost, who comes from Stuttgart, is professor for voice at the University of Music Vienna (mdw). He sings at all major opera houses worldwide, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Opéra Bastille, the Metropolitan Opera, the Salzburg Festival and the State Operas in Munich, Hamburg, Dresden and Vienna. In concert he worked at the concert halls in Düsseldorf, Zurich, Hamburg, Lisbon and the Musikverein Vienna with conductors such as C. Abbado, D. Gatti, N. Harnoncourt, R. Muti, C. M. Giulini, T. Koopman, H. Rilling, S. Ozawa and T. Pinnock. His work is documented many times on CD, among others with J. E. Gardiner on Mozart's "Così fan tutte" and Lehár's "Die lustige Witwe", Mozart's "La clemenza di Tito", Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's "Paulus", Beethoven's "Missa Solemnis" and "Fidelio" as well as Schubert's "Die schöne Müllerin" and "Schubert's Friends".
