The cellist Ida Leidl studied concert violoncello with Christoph Stradner at the Musik und Art Private University in Vienna. She majored in violoncello with Wolfgang Aichinger and Matthias Gredler Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy with a focus on ensemble conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. Her musical education was enriched by courses with Heidi Litschauer, Maria Grün, Katharian Deserno, Julian Arp and Susanne Ehn-Riebl. As a musician, she plays in the Modus 21 chamber orchestra and the Johann Strauss Ensemble. In addition to classical string quartet her chamber music activities also lead her into jazz and popular music. Here she plays in clarinettist Ulrich Drechsler‘s Chrome-Liminal Zone project as well as the GMC-Goidinger-Matheis Collectiv. In 2020 she founded the "Duo Liason" together with violinist Anna-Magdalena Lerchbaumer. The two musicians focus on contemporary music. Ida Leidl teaches violoncello and chamber music at the Upper Austrian Landesmusikschulwerk and in the Albert Reiter Music School Waidhofen/Thaya. She also works as a freelance musician.
