Johanna Zaunschirm has been a member of the Munich Philharmonic since 2017.

Following her master's degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, she played in the Saxon Staatskapelle Dresden on a temporary contract in 2016/17. She has been a participant in the Angelika Prokopp Summer Academy of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra several times.

The Austrian violinist is a prize-winner of the Concorso Ruggiero Ricci, the Gradus ad Parnassum and the Stefanie Hohl Competition as well as a scholarship holder of the Hübl Foundation and the Austrian Ministry of Science. As a chamber musician, she has performed in concerts at the Edingburgh Festival, the Salzburg Festival, the Brucknerhaus Linz and the Gmundner Festwochen, among others.

Johanna Zaunschirm received important musical impulses in master classes with Nora Chastain, Pavel Vernikov, Liana Issakadze, Rainer Schmidt and Kurt Sassmanshaus.

She completed her concert studies with Prof. Christian Altenburger at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with unanimous distinction. She received her first lessons from Pavla Kinzl at the Musikum Oberndorf before being accepted into the preparatory course at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg by Prof. Bruno Steinschaden at the age of thirteen. There she studied with Prof. Harald Herzl from 2005 to 2011 and also completed her Bachelor's degree with distinction.
