As a much sought-after guest concertmaster, Annedore Oberborbeck has accepted invitations from, amongst others, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic and the Camerata Salzburg.

In 2025, she was appointed to a full professorship at the Tyrolean State Conservatoire and is a certified lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the Mozarteum Salzburg as part of the collaboration with the Tyrolean State Conservatoire.

She is particularly committed to fostering excellence from an early age, which is why she is deeply involved in the training of young talent, both on the violin and in youth orchestras, including as a jury member at Prima la musica, the Austrian Masterclasses and the International Orchestra Academy of the Tyrolean Festival Erl.

Her students have won numerous competitions and scholarships.

For 12 years, Annedore Oberborbeck was first concertmaster of the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck and the Tyrolean State Theatre, whilst also holding a professorship at the Tyrolean State Conservatoire.

Born in 1982 in Hanover, Germany, she began playing the piano at the age of 5 and the violin at the age of 7. At just 11 years old, Annedore Oberborbeck made her debut as a soloist with the Johann Strauss Orchestra Hanover at the Hanover State Opera.

This was followed by numerous international prizes and honours, including, amongst others,

national winner of the ‘Jugend Musiziert’ competition in 1998; prize-winner at the International Yfrah Neaman Competition in Mainz and the International Kingsville Competition in Texas; and recipient of scholarships from the International Pablo de Sarasate Competition in Pamplona, the DAAD, the Ferenc Fricsay Foundation of the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, and the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation in Hamburg.

The violinist received her training at the University of Music and Drama in Hanover and the Juilliard School of Music in New York, USA, and graduated with distinction from the Nuremberg University of Music. Prominent teachers and artists, including Dorothy DeLay, Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Daniel Gaede, Igor Ozim, Herman Krebbers and Yehudi Menuhin, have had a significant influence on Annedore Oberborbeck’s career.

She also performs internationally as an outstanding soloist and chamber musician.

Her performances of the violin concertos by Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Schumann and Max Bruch with the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra of Innsbruck, and her live recording of Ludwig van Beethoven’s 10 violin sonatas for the international label Hänssler Classics, attracted considerable attention.

Previously, her concert engagements as a soloist and chamber musician had already taken Annedore Oberborbeck to Japan and the USA, as well as to renowned festivals such as the Kissinger Sommer, the Schwetzingen Festival, the Chopin Festival in Warsaw and the Societá del Quartetto Milano, and to Carnegie Hall in New York.
