Sigurd Hennemann is born in Mainz and studied piano as a junior student at the Konservatorium Mainz with Agathe Wanek, who was a student of Florica Muzicescu. At the Hochschule für Musik in Leipzig he was a double major in piano (Markus Tomas) and voice (Hans-Joachim Beyer). With Leonard Hokanson he studied piano and Lied accompaniment at the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, IN, USA. There he was an accompanist of several voice studios (Patricia Wise, Martina Arroyo, Virginia Zeani and Giorgio Tozzi) and worked as an opera coach for the university opera theatre.
Since 2001 he was contracted with the Hessische Staatstheater Wiesbaden as an opera coach and conductor. From 2004-2012 he worked for the Landestheater Linz, where he coached and conducted a lot of productions and performances. As an accompanist of Lied and as a chamber musician he has built himself a strong reputation with his concert series „Espresso-Konzerte“. For ten years it has been very well established in the musical life of Linz. Since 2010 he is a university teacher (répétiteur for singers) at the Bruckneruniversität Linz. He is also head conductor of he Operamaya opera festival in Tulum, Mexico and guest conductor at the Landestheater Linz. Since 2015 he is the chorus master of the Brucknerchor Linz.
