Since 2002 Jessica Hartlieb was teaching at the 'Friedrich-Alexander-Universität' in Erlangen/Nürnberg. After her studies she was first of all busy as a free-lance violinist as a soloist and as a chamber musician in well-known ensembles such as the 'Bayerisches Kammerorchester Bad Brückenau'. She also appeared successfully inland and abroad as a concert-master of the 'ensembleKONTRASTE' and as a soloist with several other ensembles. Her activity with the Emanon-Trio was repeatedly distinguished with international prizes. She acted also as a concert-master in the 'Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn'. In 2006 she was appointed as leader of the second violins in the 'Philharmonisches Orchester Nürnberg'.

Jessica Hartlieb is a prize-winner of numerous national and international competitions and was also distinguished with the 'Kulturförderpreis des Bezirks Mittelfranken' and with the 'Förderpreis des Kulturforums Franken'. She started violin playing at the age of 4 with Sylvia Reichardt at the 'Erlanger Musikinstitut'. Afterwards she studied with Dieter Hebecker at the 'Nürnberger Meistersinger-Konservatorium' and with Rainer Kussmaul and Hansheinz Schneeberger at the 'Musikhochschule Freiburg.

During her studies she attended several master classes such as Menahem Pressler (Beaux-Arts-Trio), Amadeus-Quartet and Alban-Berg-Quartet. At the same time she collaborated in the European Youth Orchestra and in the Gustav-Mahler-Orchestra under the direction of Claudio Abbado. After her diploma she got a two year's scholarship at the 'Karajan Akademie' from the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. In the frame of a scholarship from the 'Herbert von Karajan-Stiftung' she completed a practical training with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra between 1996-1997 as a substitute under the direction of Claudio Abbado, Zubin Metha, James Levine and others. She also took part and coached in the 'Bayerisches Landesjugendorchester'.
