Ingo Dannhorn is Professor of Piano at the University of Music  Trossingen. Ingo Dannhorn has concertized at the most well-known music centers and concert halls, such as the Herkulessaal in Munich, the Great Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, the Seoul Arts Center, the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Shanghai, Venice, Sydney, Chongqin and Berlin. He has collaborated with Kurt Eichhorn, Dennis Russell Davies conducted his debut at the Musikverein Vienna and Kurt Masur has expressed high praise for his musical abilities. Aside from his extensive career as a soloist, Ingo Dannhorn is also a passionate and highly sought-after chamber musician. Numerous concerts with Francisco Araiza, Kieth Engen, Jose Cura, Christian Altenburger and Maxim Vengerov show the huge range of Ingo Dannhorn’s musical activity. The broad spectrum of his activities is well documented in studio, live and CD recordings. Gerhard Oppitz considers him among the “most remarkable pianists of his generation: he has fabulous technical skills, and an ideal combination of intelligence and highly developed sensitivity to tonal nuance.” After winning numerous prizes at renowned international piano competitions such as the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna, the Sydney International Piano Competition and other international piano competitions in Salzburg, Vienna, Ettlingen, Pinerolo and Senigallia, Ingo Dannhorn started concertizing worldwide. “Magic moments of pianistic artistry” - these are the words of the “The Australian” in a review of the pianist, who rapidly gained international attention with his captivating musicality. In highly acclaimed solo recitals and as an accomplished chamber musician, his “exquisite sound quality, full of wisdom and augmented transfiguration" (Salzburger Nachrichten) has moved audiences and critics worldwide. “Ingo Dannhorn blazes his own personal trail through the repertoire with utmost sensitivity,” wrote the famous german reviewer Klaus Geitel. “Definitely merits very close attention,” as he puts it. He places Ingo Dannhorn alongside the most outstanding artists as Lars Vogt, Arthur Rubinstein, Vladimir Horowitz, Jorge Bolet and Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. In addition to his performing career, Ingo Dannhorn is equally passionate about his role as an educator. He was professor of piano at the Yonsei University in Seoul, one of the most famous universities in Korea and held teaching positions at the Universities of Music in Munich, Bremen, Augsburg, Wiesbaden. His students won prizes both at national and international competitions. Actally he is professor for Piano at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen. In January 2019 he received the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching of the Yonsei University. Ingo Dannhorn took piano lessons from a very young age. Prof. Anton Czjzek, who studied with the legendary pedagogue Bruno Seidlhofer for many years, subsequently discovered him and immediately admitted him to his class for highly gifted young pianists at the Salzburg Mozarteum. His first public solo recital took place at the age of twelve. He completed graduate degrees (BM,MM) and the Meisterklassendiplom for artistic achievements at the University of Music in Munich studying with Gerhard Oppitz and Margarita Höhenrieder. He continued his studies with Gitti Pirner and Noel Flores at the universities in Zurich-Winterthur and Vienna. Ingo Dannhorn is artistic director of the Wilhelm-Kempff-Festival, which is dedicated to the legendary Beethoven interpreter Kempff and his pianistic artistry and sound esthetic
