Our chamber music youth class offers you the opportunity to play together with other young musicians chamber music for piano, violin, viola, violoncello and flute in different forms from duo to chamber orchestra.
Naturally, should you need help on specific techniques, individual instruction is also available. Through this course you get the wonderful feeling of working with a community of artists, and your creativity and enthusiasm will get a boost as well.
Contact with professors and with other children in the harmonic atmosphere of the castle, snuggled in picturesque upper Austria, creates the ideal environment for intensive work, progress with your instrument, and fosters development of your ability to work in a group.
Following obligations are offered and contained in the fee
Daily minimum 40 minutes chamber music lessons depending on the ensemble, chamber orchestra for strings, woodwind ensemble, sight-reading for pianists, free use of piano instruments and of the practising premises, a workshop-concert, training in rhythmics, a public final concert admission free for participants and visitors, consultation advice for participants, teachers and parents at the end of the course week, all classes open for listeners, free use of the WLAN.
All participants will receive a diploma of participation.
A main focus of this master class lies in techniques and in interpretation of your piece and in a harmonic ensemble sound. As well, you will take part in the workshop concert at the end of the course with the other students. If you take part with your own ensemble you can freely choose your program. If you take part as an individual you will be notified by the middle of June as to the ensemble in which you will be taking part, and you will be sent the names and addresses of those in your ensemble. If possible the selection of the music and the arrangement of the ensemble (for individuals) will be chosen in consideration of your request.
There are sufficient practice rooms and pianos at your disposal, but please bring your own music stand. Practice times will be set by the professors.
young strings, pianists and flute players from age 8 up to age 18, individuals and existing ensembles, advanced students from music schools, Universities, Conservatories or from private teachers, professional musicians, music teachers and Amateurs from every nation. You can sign up as an individual, but we recommend to take part with the ensemble you are currently working with.
As a string player you should master basic positions and techniques. As a pianist you should be able to manage works in a level of difficulty of simple Baroque trio Sonata or early Haydn piano trios. As a flute player you should have had 3 years lessons.
Castle Zell an der Pram in Upper Austria.
The class starts at 6 p.m. with dinner. Arrival after 3 p.m.
The class ends after the public concert in the Knights Hall of the castle.
Late applications will be considered if possible, but due to high demand and limited space, we encourage you to get your application in on time.
The class ends with a concert in the Knights Hall of the castle. The participants will be selected by the professors.
There are sports grounds and a gym for ball-games, table tennis, etc.
you can participate in the solo master classes and in the chamber music week at the same time.
