Born in Budapest in 1979, Hungarian pianist Zoltán Füzesséry received his first piano lessons at the age of 6 from Enikő Akácsos. He later studied piano as his major at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest under Katalin Halmágyi.

Already in 1992, Füzesséry drew attention as a rising star of the young generation of Hungarian pianists when, at the age of thirteen, he won the Hungarian National Competition. In 1998, he was admitted as a student to the class of Prof. Alexandr Satz at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. After just two years, he won the International Piano Competition "GET WINGS II" hosted by Steinway & Sons in Vienna and received an honorary diploma at the International Schubert Competition in Graz in 2000.

In 2001, he won 3rd prize at the International Schubert Competition in Dortmund, whose jury included world-renowned artists who were particularly impressed by the young pianist's subtle, intellectual style of playing. In addition, he won 2nd prize at the Giuliano Pecar Piano Interpretation Prize in Gorizia and 3rd prize at the Ibiza International Piano Competition. In the summer of 2004, out of 237 applicants from around the world, he was selected as one of 36 young pianists personally invited to participate in the Sydney International Piano Competition, where he reached the quarter-finals. He achieved a similar success at the Clara Haskil Competition in Vevey.

Alongside numerous solo concerts in Hungary, Austria, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Slovenia, Belgium, Romania, China, and Taiwan, he has also performed with renowned orchestras such as the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra, Dortmund Philharmonic, Lublin Philharmonic, European Youth Chamber Orchestra of Styria, Danubia Symphony Orchestra, Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, and Recreation Graz. For over twenty years, he has worked as a regular piano partner with cellist Kerstin Feltz. His debut solo CD recording was released in 2004, featuring piano works by Franz Liszt.

Between 2006 and 2012, he taught piano and piano chamber music at the Ernő Dohnányi Conservatory in Veszprém, Hungary. In 2014, Füzesséry successfully completed his doctoral artistic studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. He has been teaching piano at the same university since 2012, and since 2024 he has served as the Head of the Department of Piano.
